How to evaluate an opportunity
Open guide, useful without signup. The same checks our qualification gate runs.
1. Is the page real and on-topic?
- The page loads and is maintained.
- The topic actually matches your category.
- Not a link farm: if it only lists unrelated tools - skip.
2. Is there a realistic next step?
- A submission form, contributor guidelines, public contact, or an explicit suggestion thread.
- If the only route is a paid placement - decide with open eyes.
- Unknown contact is not automatically bad, but plan for research.
3. What to offer
- A genuine addition: your tool with a concrete difference.
- Your original data or statistics.
- A replacement for a dead resource.
- Never a bare "please link to us".
